Prévenir vaut mieux que guérir !

Tout d’abord, en matière d’entretien de pull, prévenir vaut mieux que guérir. Plus vous prendrez soin de votre pull au quotidien, mieux il vieillira, et plus vous pourrez le garder longtemps.

Pour cela, nous vous conseillons de respecter très scrupuleusement les indications d’entretien notées sur l’étiquette : les fabricants savent ce qu’ils font ! Aussi, s’il est noté “lavage à 30°”, ne pensez pas qu’une seule lessive à 40° ne lui fera pas de mal : c’est faux.

Par ailleurs, il y a quelques bonnes pratiques préventives que vous pouvez adopter pour tous vos pulls, même si ce n’est pas noté noir sur blanc. Pensez notamment à toujours laver vos pulls à l’envers, privilégiez autant que possible les cycles délicats (l’essorage est plus doux, ce qui implique moins de frottements, et donc des pulls moins abîmés) et évitez au maximum le sèche linge.

Et, bien sûr, pour les matières les plus délicates comme le cachemire, la soie, l’angora ou encore certaines fibres synthétiques ou artificielles, mieux vaut privilégier le lavage à la main quand le lavage est autorisé, ou bien confier ses trésors à un pressing lorsque le lavage est interdit.

L’un des soucis les plus récurrents avec les pulls en maille est l’apparition de bouloches, qui donnent à coup sûr un aspect vieillot à un pull.

Les rasoirs électriques spécialement conçus pour retirer les bouloches des pulls fonctionnent très bien, de même que la méthode de grand-mère qui consiste à retirer les peluches des pulls à l’aide d’une bande de velcro ou encore avec une pierre ponce.

Récupérer un pull en laine qui a rétréci au lavage

Si vous avez fait une erreur de lavage et que votre pull XXL en laine a rétréci, vous pouvez encore tenter de le récupérer. Pour cela, vous devrez d’abord le laisser tremper 3 à 4 heures dans une bassine remplie d’eau froide et d’après-shampoing (environ 1 cuillère à soupe par litre d’eau). Étirez régulièrement et très délicatement les mailles pour redonner à votre pull sa taille d’origine.

Rincez ensuite le pull à l’eau froide et faites le sécher à plat, entre deux serviettes, en veillant à lui donner la forme que vous souhaitez qu’il prenne.

Redonner de l’éclat à un pull coloré

Pour un pull coloré qui a perdu de l’éclat, vous pouvez tenter de le faire tremper dans un mélange d’eau et de sel pour raviver sa couleur. A condition, bien sûr, que sa composition le permette !

Empêcher un pull de perdre ses poils

Si vous avez un pull en angora qui a une fâcheuse tendance à perdre ses poils un peu partout, vous pouvez tenter d’endiguer le phénomène en le plaçant au congélateur pendant 4 à 8 heures, dans un sac congélation.

Au fil des lavages, il n’est pas rare qu’un pull à l’origine tout doux devienne plus rêche et se mette à gratter. Heureusement, il est assez facile de redonner de la douceur à un pull. Il suffit en général de le laisser tremper dans une bassine d’eau froide et de vinaigre blanc (1 verre de vinaigre par litre d’eau) pendant une douzaine d’heures environ.

Redonner du gonflant à un pull en maille

Si vous remarquez que vos pulls ont tendance à perdre de leur gonflant au fur et à mesure des lavages, il y a de fortes chances que ce soit à cause du calcaire et/ou du fait que les fibres se saturent de lessive lavage après lavage. Pour limiter ce phénomène, pensez à ajouter un verre de vinaigre blanc dans l’eau de rinçage de vos pulls, c’est redoutable !
